Viscometer
Brookfield Viscometers (LVT and RVT) are used to satisfy USP, EP, JP, FCC, BP, ASTM, ACS, AOAC and customer specific methodologies. Many spindle sets are available, providing a wide range of applications.
A variety of capillary viscometers (Ubbelohde and Cannon-Fenske) are also available. Cellulose derivative capillary viscometers are used specifically for cellulose derived products.
Both techniques are used to measure the resistance to flow. It is defined as the shear stress divided by the rate of shear strain. It can be used to characterize raw materials and finished products. The viscosity of a product may determine patient acceptance in the case of liquids or manufacturing suitability.
