R. D. Laboratories, Inc. is able to perform identification testing by scanning ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometric measurement. This is a commonly sited procedure in nearly all compendia such as USP/NF, EP, BP, JP, FCC and ACS. A sample spectra is compared to a standard spectra to verify peak maxima and minima. Some procedures may require molar absorptivity calculations to verify identity/strength. Assays are also routinely performed typically using a one point measurement with reference standard comparison.
