Disintegration
R. D. Laboratories, Inc. utilizes a Sotax DT3 disintegration apparatus to reliably determine disintegration of tablets or capsules as described in various pharmaceutical compendia. This test is used to determine if the product disintegrates within a prescribed time using the specified liquid medium. Although it does not imply complete solution of the active constituent, it does provide a visual observation of the tablet/capsule dose breaks apart (disintegrates) within a prescribed set of conditions.
